Don’t they realize they’ll get all that water back from the Springs via Fountain Creek? True it will be loaded with raw sewage and e.coli, but that ain’t Doug Bruce’s problem…

Colorado Springs has used 3-stage treatment before putting treated effluent back into the creek. Nowadays its an advanced 4-stage treatment.
Raw sewage and e. coli do flow into the creek during some heavy storm runoff events, admittedly. But that doesn’t happen often, and it’s 30+ miles from the outflow to the city of Pueblo.
You are defending what is effectively a taking of Colorado Springs’ water ?

The lawsuits against Colorado Springs for their repeated sewage spills into Fountain Creek, and the Springs’ endless delay, misdirection, and insistence that it was always somebody else’s problem, are notorious around the country.

Since the Bush Administration has just gone and revisited their failed attempts to drill right up against the borders of Arches National Park and other parks (as well as in sensitive areas of Colorado like Desolation Canyon), does it really surprise anyone that Bush is also trying to ram oil shale down our throats on his way out the door?
